We are currently seeking a number of experienced Project Engineers to join our growing team on a permanent basis. Immediate starts are available, and suitable candidates will be interviewed as applications are received.
About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of reinforced concrete (RC) frame and groundwork projects. Working as part of the project delivery team, you will report directly to the Project Manager or Engineering Manager and be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all setting out activities and undertake as-built surveys.
- Ensure accurate dimensional control of the project using appropriate surveying methods and equipment.
- Support the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures.
- Carry out and maintain quality inspection records, including pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
- Manage and supervise Site Engineers and Setting Out Engineers, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the latest AFC (Approved for Construction) drawings.
- Maintain and update project documentation in line with company procedures and ensure construction is based on the latest approved information.
- Assist with monitoring environmental compliance and project quality standards.
- Support supervisors and site teams by providing technical guidance and engineering solutions.
- Measure quantities and prepare material take-offs to support procurement and project planning.
- Ensure all company Health & Safety policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times.
- Monitor site safety and take appropriate action where required.
- Assist the wider project team with engineering and technical duties as required.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working on Civil/RC frame and groundwork projects in the UK.
- Previous experience working for an RC frame subcontractor in the UK (ideal but not essential).
- A valid CSCS White Card.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
